Standards for assessment and accreditation of subspecialty training units – coming soon
Accreditation standards and criteria for CMFM, CREI and CU have been approved and are in place as of 1 December 2022. Standards and criteria for CGO and COGU are under review in consultation with the relevant subspecialty committees and are expected to come into effect on 1 April ·ÛºìÅ®ÀÉ 2023.

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists
Accreditation standards and criteria for Certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine (CMFM), Certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) and Certification in Urogynaecology (CU) have been approved and are in place as of 1 December 2022.
Standards and criteria for Certification in Gynaecological Oncology (CGO) and Certification in Obstetrical and Gynaecological Ultrasound (COGU) are under review in consultation with the relevant subspecialty committees and expected to come into effect on 1 April ·ÛºìÅ®ÀÉ 2023.
Significant changes have been made to ensure that the standards and criteria for each subspecialty training program stand alone from the subspecialty training program handbooks, and outline the expectations of an accredited unit.
- Organisation of each set of accreditation standards and criteria into eight standards.
- Inclusion of workplace culture and elements of the Bullying, Harassment and Discrimination (BHD) Policy and Resource Guide.
- Development of Position Descriptions for both subspecialty program directors and training supervisors.
- Applications for additional positions will only be accepted between March and May of each year.
Accreditation activities undertaken for each program will be reviewed using the most current version available at the time of the assessment.
